Little Stitchers - New Students (Register Oct 1st)

A beginner-friendly sewing course for kids ages 7–12.

NEW STUDENTS: Along with your first-session enrolment it is required to book the additional 2.5 hour pre-requisite (machine basics) which prepares your child for their sewing program. Prerequisite courses happen 1 week before program start. Check the dates here, and add to your cart. 

This 6-week class is the perfect place to start! Whether your child has never touched a sewing machine or already has a little experience, this beginner sewing (Unit 1) is designed to build confidence and core skills in a fun, supportive environment.

Developed by Sewciety Kids and brought to you by Main Fabric, this proven curriculum has helped thousands of kids across North America not only learn to sew but sew confidently and successfully making anything from crafty quilts to clothes that they can wear —and now it’s available for the first time in Dundas and the Greater Hamilton Area!

In their first session students will:

• Practice safely and confidently use a sewing machine

• Make a quilted pillow and use their new skills to upcycle a white T-shirt with their own creative flair (All materials provided)
  

• Explore sewing through hands-on, project-based learning

Class Format:

• One class per week for 6 weeks, 1.5 hours each day 

• 4:1 Student to Teacher Ratio

• Open to all genders, no experience necessary (pre-requisite class required)

Our kids sewing program is growing! After your child completes their first 6 sessions, the curriculum keeps moving forward with fresh projects and exciting new skills to explore. Plus, PA Day Camps and Summer Camps throughout the year, each featuring all-new projects and exciting new skills for your child to explore. Each new unit will run in 6-week sessions.

FAQ and Toolkit Notes:

• Students are required to have their own sewing toolkit, including a sharp pair of fabric shears. We’ve curated a high-quality Kids Sewing Toolkit that’s available for purchase at a discounted price with the purchase of the little stitchers workshop. Deposit:

• If purchasing prior to October 17th you can choose to pay a 50% deposit to secure your spot - the deposit is transferable (we can apply your credit to a different course) prior to the second payment on October 17th. After the second payment is made - the deposit becomes non-refundable and non-transferable and your second payment is subject to our normal workshop policy and cancellation rules.

Don't forget to add your workshop dates to your calendar as soon as you have registered. About a week prior to your workshop you will receive an email outlining further details of the workshop including what you will learn, what you need to bring, and our cancellation policy. The email will also include our class waiver that will need to be signed online prior to attending the workshop.

At the studio we allow water and light snacks around the cutting table and sewing machines, other types of drinks and larger snacks can be enjoyed in our store sitting area. Cell phones, devices are great learning tools, you are welcome to bring and use them.

Full payment of the workshop is required at the time of registration to reserve your spot. Participants must be 14 years of age or older to participate on their own in the workshop unless otherwise stated. Participants between the ages of 14-17 must have a parent or guardian sign their liability waiver. Participants between the ages 8 - 13 years of age can participate in the workshop as long as a paying adult participating as well. 

Cancellation policy 

• Full Refund: Available for cancellations made more than 7 days before the workshop date.
• 50% Refund or Transfer: For cancellations made between 3 to 7 days prior to the workshop, you have the option of receiving a 50% refund or transferring your spot to the next available workshop. If there is no complimentary workshop you will receive a 50% refund. 
• No Refund/Transfer: Cancellations within 48 hours of the workshop date will not be eligible for a refund or transfer.

DEBUT workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable. 

Workshop spots are transferable, if you are unable to make your workshop, send a friend! Call or text us to let us know of the switch.
