The Kiveton is inspired by the classic donkey jacket traditionally worn by coal merchants. It has a detachable hood, double hip pockets and contrast shoulder panels and base pockets. It’s endlessly practical, and you can make it lined or unlined.
Sizes:
XS - 3XL (body chest 86 - 146 cm / 33¾ - 57½")
Fabric Recommendations: Wool and tweed, oilskin or dry oilskin, non-stretch denim, cotton twill or canvas, and corduroy. For the contrast shoulder panels, use oilskin or dry oilskin, leather, or the main fabric. For the lining, use lightweight cotton, poplin, lightweight wool or slip linings, with a barrier lining if you’re sewing with oilskin.
Digital Files Included: Pattern files provided in both 6-A0 pages large-format, and 84-tiled pages print-at-home formats, plus detailed assembly instructions.

We ship within Canada through various shipping carriers.
Shipping Domestically: Shipping costs are flat rate based on your total purchase price before tax. Shipping is free on orders over $150 CAD. Shipping is a flat rate of $12 CAD on purchases of $149.99 CAD or less. Express shipping rates are available on some packages.
Shipping to USA: We are pausing all shipping to the USA due to the US de minimus exemption lifted (As of August 29, 2025, shipments from Canada to the U.S. valued under $800 USD will no longer be duty- and tariff-free under the U.S. de minimis exemption, unless the goods meet CUSMA (Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement) requirements).
For local sewers - Curb-side pick-up is free and is an available option at checkout. Customers will receive an email within 48 hours notifying them that their package is ready for pick-up. Customers must pick-up their package during normal store hours, bring order confirmation for proof of purchase.
