Basic Alterations Workshop

Are you ready to refresh the fit and feel good wearing everything in your closet? Join our Basic Alterations workshop, designed for those who want to start adjusting and altering their own store-bought clothing.

This workshop is perfect for beginners who have a little experience in sewing but want to gain practical skills in clothing alterations. 

Join us:

Sunday March 29th - 10am - 1:15pm

You should already know how to:

• Thread a sewing machine with some help
• Use basic stitches like straight stitch and zig-zag stitch

You will learn:

• Hemming pants
• Taking in or letting out a seam
• Shortening or lengthening sleeves
• Repairing a button
• Adjusting a neckline 

Each course is customized around the most common adjustments needed by the group, with time spent where it’s most helpful. Even if we do not get to demonstrations of each adjustment above, we have take-home resources available for you.

Don't forget to add your workshop dates to your calendar as soon as you have registered. About a week prior to your workshop you will receive an email outlining further details of the workshop including what you will learn, what you need to bring, and our cancellation policy. The email will also include our class waiver that will need to be signed online prior to attending the workshop.

At the studio we allow water and light snacks around the cutting table and sewing machines, other types of drinks and larger snacks can be enjoyed in our store sitting area. Cell phones, devices are great learning tools, you are welcome to bring and use them.

Full payment of the workshop is required at the time of registration to reserve your spot. Participants must be 14 years of age or older to participate on their own in the workshop unless otherwise stated. Participants between the ages of 14-17 must have a parent or guardian sign their liability waiver. Participants between the ages 8 - 13 years of age can participate in the workshop as long as a paying adult participating as well. 

Cancellation policy 

• Full Refund: Available for cancellations made more than 7 days before the workshop date.
• 50% Refund or Transfer: For cancellations made between 3 to 7 days prior to the workshop, you have the option of receiving a 50% refund or transferring your spot to the next available workshop. If there is no complimentary workshop you will receive a 50% refund. 
• No Refund/Transfer: Cancellations within 48 hours of the workshop date will not be eligible for a refund or transfer.

DEBUT workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable. 

Workshop spots are transferable, if you are unable to make your workshop, send a friend! Call or text us to let us know of the switch.
