Main Tote - In-Person Sewing Workshop at 43 Cootes Dr, Dundas

Just finished Intro to Machine Sewing but not quite ready to commit to a full multi-week workshop? This one’s for you! In this one-session class, you’ll get back into the studio and sew your very own Main Tote—a beautifully designed, fully lined tote bag with a variety of practical pockets.

It’s the perfect project to refresh your machine sewing skills, build confidence, and leave with something useful and stylish. Whether you want a little more guided practice or just miss the hum of the machine, this fun session will keep your sewing momentum going.

Pre-Requisite: We require participants to have taken Intro to Machine Sewing prior to attending Main Tote workshop. 

You should already know how to:

• Wind a bobbin with some help
• Thread a sewing machine with some help
• Use basic stitches like straight stitch and zig-zag stitch

This workshop includes:

• All of the fabric and supplies required to make the Main Tote 
• 3.5 hours of expert instruction 

Note: This is a new workshop offering at Main Fabric for the months of May and June we will be offering a 20% discount on the cost of the workshop while we work out the kinks and improve.

Don't forget to add your workshop dates to your calendar as soon as you have registered. About a week prior to your workshop you will receive an email outlining further details of the workshop including what you will learn, what you need to bring, and our cancellation policy. The email will also include our class waiver that will need to be signed online prior to attending the workshop.

At the studio we allow water and light snacks around the cutting table and sewing machines, other types of drinks and larger snacks can be enjoyed in our store sitting area. Cell phones, devices are great learning tools, you are welcome to bring and use them.

Full payment of the workshop is required at the time of registration to reserve your spot. Participants must be 14 years of age or older to participate on their own in the workshop unless otherwise stated. Participants between the ages of 14-17 must have a parent or guardian sign their liability waiver. Participants between the ages 8 - 13 years of age can participate in the workshop as long as a paying adult participating as well. 

Cancellation policy 

• Full Refund: Available for cancellations made more than 7 days before the workshop date.
• 50% Refund or Transfer: For cancellations made between 3 to 7 days prior to the workshop, you have the option of receiving a 50% refund or transferring your spot to the next available workshop. If there is no complimentary workshop you will receive a 50% refund. 
• No Refund/Transfer: Cancellations within 48 hours of the workshop date will not be eligible for a refund or transfer.

DEBUT workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable. 

Workshop spots are transferable, if you are unable to make your workshop, send a friend! Call or text us to let us know of the switch.
