A class just for your tweens and teens (11-17 years old) to continue on their sewing journey and make some fun garments and accessories. The project changes every session (monthly) and teens will spend three Sunday mornings sewing up their items. All projects are gender-neutral. 

Pre-requisite for this workshop 

Absolute beginners must take our introductory course for teens before signing up for a project. These intro workshops are held on the first Sunday of the month.

If your teen has already taken our introductory course, and made their zippered pouch, you only need to purchase this project course. See below for monthly project details. 

March Project - Hoodie (stretchy fabric)

April Project INTERMEDIATE* - Backpack (non-stretchy fabric)

June Project - Shorts (stretchy or non-stretchy fabric)

Skills that you may practice: 

• Determining your size and tracing a pattern
• Laying out and cutting fabric on grain
• Following a pattern 
• Sewing with woven material
• Sewing with knit material 
• Sewing garments

* For the April project, students must have taken at least one other teen project class to participate. This project is not suitable for beginners.

Don't forget to add your workshop dates to your calendar as soon as you have registered. About a week prior to your workshop you will receive an email outlining further details of the workshop including what you will learn, what you need to bring, and our cancellation policy. The email will also include our class waiver that will need to be signed online prior to attending the workshop.

At the studio we allow water and light snacks around the cutting table and sewing machines, other types of drinks and larger snacks can be enjoyed in our store sitting area. Cell phones, devices are great learning tools, you are welcome to bring and use them.

Full payment of the workshop is required at the time of registration to reserve your spot. Participants must be 14 years of age or older to participate on their own in the workshop unless otherwise stated. Participants between the ages of 14-17 must have a parent or guardian sign their liability waiver. Participants between the ages 8 - 13 years of age can participate in the workshop as long as a paying adult participating as well. 

Cancellation policy 

Our cancellation policy will change as of April 8th 2024. Changes to the policy help us to provide a better experience to all of our clients. Below is our new class cancellation policy that will take into effect as of April 8th 2024. 

- Full Refund: Available for cancellations made more than 7 days before the workshop date.
- 50% Refund or Transfer: For cancellations made between 3 to 7 days prior to the workshop, you have the option of receiving a 50% refund or transferring your spot to the next available workshop. If there is no complimentary workshop you will receive a 50% refund. 
- No Refund/Transfer: Cancellations within 48 hours of the workshop date will not be eligible for a refund or transfer.

DEBUT workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable.
