This is an intro to machine sewing course for tweens and teens (11-17 yo) and is a pre-requisite course for our teen project course found here. This 3-hour course is for absolute beginners and prepares your teen for the remainder of the teen series (usually the following 3 consecutive Sundays). Each month teens will embark on a new project. No prior sewing experience is necessary for this course. This series is for children aged 11-17.
If your teen is an absolute beginner and is interested in attending our teen workshop series (usually 2 or 3 consecutive Sundays) you must purchase this course AND the full project course found here. Make sure to book the correct dates.
If you teen has already learned on our sewing machines and does not need the intro course again, please book ONLY the project course found here.

No prior experience is necessary for this workshop.

What to Bring: 1.5 meters medium- to heavy-weight cotton fabric (cotton canvas, duck canvas). 9 inch zipper. Additional details will follow. Course kits can be purchased for $10.

Don't forget to add your workshop dates to your calendar as soon as you have registered. About a week prior to your workshop you will receive an email outlining further details of the workshop including what you will learn, what you need to bring, and our cancellation policy. The email will also include our class waiver that will need to be signed online prior to attending the workshop.

At the studio we allow water and light snacks around the cutting table and sewing machines, other types of drinks and larger snacks can be enjoyed in our store sitting area. Cell phones, devices are great learning tools, you are welcome to bring and use them.

Full payment of the workshop is required at the time of registration to reserve your spot. Participants must be 14 years of age or older to participate on their own in the workshop unless otherwise stated. Participants between the ages of 14-17 must have a parent or guardian sign their liability waiver. Participants between the ages 8 - 13 years of age can participate in the workshop as long as a paying adult participating as well.
Cancellation policy
Our cancellation policy will change as of April 8th 2024. Changes to the policy help us to provide a better experience to all of our clients. Below is our new class cancellation policy that will take into effect as of April 8th 2024.
- Full Refund: Available for cancellations made more than 7 days before the workshop date.
- 50% Refund or Transfer: For cancellations made between 3 to 7 days prior to the workshop, you have the option of receiving a 50% refund or transferring your spot to the next available workshop. If there is no complimentary workshop you will receive a 50% refund.
- No Refund/Transfer: Cancellations within 48 hours of the workshop date will not be eligible for a refund or transfer.
DEBUT workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable.
