Stuck on your sewing project? Not getting the right fit? Confused about draglines or wrinkles in your makes? Come to our Ask Anything - Open Sew workshop to get answers to all of your fit and garment construction questions!
Come to Main Fabric to work on your project with an expert by your side, ask questions, ask advice, and level up your sewing game. Our expert seamstress will supervise this event and offer helpful tips and advice for getting the perfect look and feel of your garment. We have all the tools and supplies you need to work on your project in our studio space. Just bring your fabric, pattern, and thread.
Workshop Dates and Times
This is a 3 hour session to work on a project of your choice in our studio space.
Pre-requisite for this workshop
For this workshop we require the attendee to know basics of how to use a sewing machine including winding the bobbin and threading the machine. In addition, you have practiced basic stitches and stitching in a straight line.
Most likely you have sewn 1 or 2 garments (or more) and are interested to ask specific questions about garment construction and fit for your body from our expert seamstress
Skills that you can practice:
- Tailoring a garment
- Adjusting a pattern for your body
- Installing a button or a zipper
- Tricks of the trade

Don't forget to add your workshop dates to your calendar as soon as you have registered. About a week prior to your workshop you will receive an email outlining further details of the workshop including what you will learn, what you need to bring, and our cancellation policy. The email will also include our class waiver that will need to be signed online prior to attending the workshop.

At the studio we allow water and light snacks around the cutting table and sewing machines, other types of drinks and larger snacks can be enjoyed in our store sitting area. Cell phones, devices are great learning tools, you are welcome to bring and use them.

Full payment of the workshop is required at the time of registration to reserve your spot. Participants must be 14 years of age or older to participate on their own in the workshop unless otherwise stated. Participants between the ages of 14-17 must have a parent or guardian sign their liability waiver. Participants between the ages 8 - 13 years of age can participate in the workshop as long as a paying adult participating as well.
Cancellation policy
Our cancellation policy will change as of April 8th 2024. Changes to the policy help us to provide a better experience to all of our clients. Below is our new class cancellation policy that will take into effect as of April 8th 2024.
- Full Refund: Available for cancellations made more than 7 days before the workshop date.
- 50% Refund or Transfer: For cancellations made between 3 to 7 days prior to the workshop, you have the option of receiving a 50% refund or transferring your spot to the next available workshop. If there is no complimentary workshop you will receive a 50% refund.
- No Refund/Transfer: Cancellations within 48 hours of the workshop date will not be eligible for a refund or transfer.
DEBUT workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Workshop spots are transferable, if you are unable to make your workshop, send a friend! Call or text us to let us know of the switch.
