The Capstone Hemlock Top is a comfortable and versatile staple for any wardrobe. In this workshop you will make a v-neck top featuring drop sleeves, front darts for shaping, and enclosed seams for a polished look both inside and out. It is intended to fall slightly below the waistline, and pairs well with high-waisted jeans/trousers.

What better way to learn a pattern than from the person who designed it? This workshop will be instructed by Laura Fullerton who is the designer of the Hemlock pattern and owner of Capstone Pattern Co. Laura believes creating a handmade wardrobe should be a joyful and rewarding process, and she wants to help simplify and de-mystify the process. She started Capstone Pattern Co. in early 2023 with the mission to provide thoughtfully designed, timeless, easy-to-follow sewing patterns for modern-day makers.

This workshop is 8 hours total, split over 2 days.
Pre-requisite for this workshop
For our project-based workshops we require the attendee to know the basics of how to use a sewing machine including winding the bobbin and threading the machine. In addition, the attendee has practiced basic stitches and stitching in a straight line. If you have never sewed before we request that you first take our course Intro to Machine Sewing to prepare.

About a week prior to your workshop you will receive an email outlining further details of the workshop including what you will learn, what you need to bring, and our cancellation policy. The email will also include our class waiver that will need to be signed online prior to attending the workshop.

At the studio we allow water and light snacks around the cutting table and sewing machines, other types of drinks and larger snacks can be enjoyed in our store sitting area. Cell phones, devices are great learning tools, you are welcome to bring and use them.

Full payment of the workshop is required at the time of registration to reserve your spot. Participants must be 14 years of age or older to participate on their own in the workshop unless otherwise stated. Participants between the ages of 14-17 must have a parent or guardian sign their liability waiver. Participants between the ages 8 - 13 years of age can participate in the workshop as long as a paying adult participating as well.
Cancellation policy
Our cancellation policy will change as of April 8th 2024. Changes to the policy help us to provide a better experience to all of our clients. Below is our new class cancellation policy that will take into effect as of April 8th 2024.
- Full Refund: Available for cancellations made more than 7 days before the workshop date.
- 50% Refund or Transfer: For cancellations made between 3 to 7 days prior to the workshop, you have the option of receiving a 50% refund or transferring your spot to the next available workshop. If there is no complimentary workshop you will receive a 50% refund.
- No Refund/Transfer: Cancellations within 48 hours of the workshop date will not be eligible for a refund or transfer.
DEBUT workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable.
