Pattern Drafting 2: Tops - In-Person Sewing Workshop at 43 Cootes Dr, Dundas

Take your pattern drafting skills further in this advanced workshop with our expert instructor, Robin! Building on your basic top block, this session focuses on drafting and sewing essential design elements to refine your garment-making skills. You’ll create half-scale samples to master techniques such as:

✔️ Necklines & facings (V-neck, scoop, and high neck variations)
✔️ Sleeves (set-in, raglan, puff, and flared)
✔️ Closures (button plackets, keyholes, and zippers)
✔️ Decorative & functional details (darts, gathers, pleats, and yokes)

By the end of this workshop, you’ll have a solid foundation in top construction and the confidence to incorporate these elements into your custom designs. Whether you're creating blouses, tunics, or structured tops, this course will provide the skills to elevate your sewing projects.

CLASS PRE-REQUISITE - Students must have attended Pattern Drafting: Tops prior to attending this course. 

Class Dates
Sundays May 25th & June 1st, 8th, & 15th (4 sessions)
10am - 1pm 

This workshop is 12 hours total. This workshop is limited to 5 attendees.

You should have already made:

• A custom top block in Pattern Drafting: Tops

Skills that you can practice: 

• Creating standard top components like necklines, sleeves, closures, and other decorative top details
• Designing in half-scale
• Using your new skills to start creating a complete top pattern

Additionally, you receive:

• 12 hours with an expert instructor
• All course materials are included. 
• Use of our equipment and tools

Don't forget to add your workshop dates to your calendar as soon as you have registered. About a week prior to your workshop you will receive an email outlining further details of the workshop including what you will learn, what you need to bring, and our cancellation policy. The email will also include our class waiver that will need to be signed online prior to attending the workshop.

At the studio we allow water and light snacks around the cutting table and sewing machines, other types of drinks and larger snacks can be enjoyed in our store sitting area. Cell phones, devices are great learning tools, you are welcome to bring and use them.

Full payment of the workshop is required at the time of registration to reserve your spot. Participants must be 14 years of age or older to participate on their own in the workshop unless otherwise stated. Participants between the ages of 14-17 must have a parent or guardian sign their liability waiver. Participants between the ages 8 - 13 years of age can participate in the workshop as long as a paying adult participating as well. 

Cancellation policy 

• Full Refund: Available for cancellations made more than 7 days before the workshop date.
• 50% Refund or Transfer: For cancellations made between 3 to 7 days prior to the workshop, you have the option of receiving a 50% refund or transferring your spot to the next available workshop. If there is no complimentary workshop you will receive a 50% refund. 
• No Refund/Transfer: Cancellations within 48 hours of the workshop date will not be eligible for a refund or transfer.

DEBUT workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable. 

Workshop spots are transferable, if you are unable to make your workshop, send a friend! Call or text us to let us know of the switch.
